These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of RunExpress ("the App", "we", "us"), operated by John Glanville, based in the United Kingdom. By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. The service
RunExpress is a running coaching and analysis application. It connects to third-party fitness platforms (including Strava and Garmin Connect) to import your activity data, and uses that data to generate personalised training plans and coaching insights.
The App is provided as-is. We do not guarantee that coaching or training recommendations will improve your performance or be suitable for your individual circumstances. You are responsible for your own health and safety when following any training plan or advice provided by the App.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the App. By using the App, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
3. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us at hello@runexpress.app immediately.
You must provide accurate information when creating your account. You may not create accounts on behalf of other people or impersonate any person or organisation.
4. Connecting third-party accounts
The App can connect to third-party services including Strava and Garmin Connect to import your fitness data. By connecting a third-party account, you:
- Confirm you have the right to share that data with the App.
- Confirm you are not restricted by any agreement, law, or regulation from doing so.
- Agree that the App will store and process that data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
- Acknowledge that the App's use of Garmin data is subject to the Garmin Connect Privacy Policy.
You can disconnect any third-party account at any time from your account settings. Upon disconnection, data obtained from that service will be deleted within 48 hours.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in any way that violates applicable law or regulation.
- Attempt to access, reverse engineer, or interfere with any part of the App's systems or infrastructure.
- Upload or transmit data you do not own or do not have the right to share.
- Use the App in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the service.
- Attempt to circumvent any security or access controls.
- Post, upload, share, or transmit any user-generated content — including activity names, activity descriptions, and profile information — that is objectionable, abusive, harassing, threatening, hateful, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise inappropriate, or that harasses, bullies, or impersonates any other person.
Zero tolerance for objectionable content. RunExpress has no tolerance for objectionable user-generated content or abusive behaviour. You can report content or users you believe violate these Terms using the report option in the App, and you can block users so you no longer see their content. We review reports within 24 hours and will remove offending content and suspend or terminate the accounts of users who violate this policy. You can manage the users you have blocked at any time from your account settings.
6. Intellectual property
The App and its original content (excluding your personal data and activity data) are owned by John Glanville. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute any part of the App without prior written permission.
Your activity data and personal data remain yours. We claim no ownership over it. See our Privacy Policy for details of how we handle it.
7. Third-party services
The App integrates with third-party services including Strava, Garmin, OpenAI, Stripe, Apple, and Resend. Your use of those services is subject to their respective terms and policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of any third-party service.
Where data is sourced from Garmin devices, it is provided subject to Garmin's terms and brand guidelines. Garmin data displayed within the App is attributed to Garmin in accordance with those guidelines.
8. Subscriptions, payments and refunds
The App offers optional paid subscription tiers (currently "Plan" and "Coached"). Free features remain available without a subscription.
- Billing. Web subscriptions and donations are processed by Stripe. Subscriptions purchased through the iOS app are processed by Apple as in-app purchases and billed to your Apple ID.
- Pricing and free trial. Current prices are shown in GBP on our Plans page and at the point of purchase. Paid tiers may include a free trial; unless you cancel before the trial ends, the subscription converts to a paid subscription at the then-current price.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) at the then-current price, unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your payment method is charged on renewal.
- Managing and cancelling. Web subscriptions can be managed or cancelled at any time from your account settings via the Stripe billing portal. Apple subscriptions are managed and cancelled through your Apple ID subscription settings on your device. Cancelling stops future renewals; access continues until the end of the current paid period.
- Refunds. Purchases made through Apple are subject to Apple's refund policy and must be requested from Apple. For web payments, you may have statutory cancellation and refund rights under applicable consumer law; contact us at hello@runexpress.app for refund requests. Donations are voluntary and non-refundable except where required by law.
- Price changes. We may change subscription prices. Material price changes affecting an active subscription will be notified in advance, and you may cancel before they take effect.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Coaching and training recommendations are generated automatically and are not a substitute for professional medical or sporting advice.
Third-party data providers (including Strava and Garmin) may change, restrict, or discontinue their APIs at any time. We cannot guarantee continued availability of features that depend on third-party data.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, John Glanville shall not be liable to you for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or personal injury resulting from following training recommendations.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £100, whichever is greater.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
11. Account termination
You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. All your personal data will be deleted within 48 hours of account deletion.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, or if we are required to do so by law or by a third-party data provider whose terms you have violated.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the App after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
